Character

Name: Crystal
Fandom: Pokémon Special
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Time Period: Vol. 43, chapter 454
Wing Color: Crystal
History: Bulbapedia page
Personality: Crystal is that cheerful, fun person to be around until she gets started on her work. When she first met the Professor, she showed him her skill in Pokémon battles, and how she could handle a stressful situation like wild Slugma attacking the daycare she worked at. After reassuring him, he decided to let her go on and catch all the Pokémon in the Johto region. Crystal is very good with teamwork, and not just with her own Pokémon, but the other other Pokédex holders, as well. Granted, she is much more composed and mature when compared to them, and doesn't nearly fight as often as they do. In fact, she usually tries to break up their fights. Sadly, it doesn't usually work, but those two always work it out. But unlike them, she knows her responsibilities, and always holds true to them. She never gives up halfway, Crys always gets the job done, and gets it done WELL. She's the most reliable out of the Johto trio, and possibly all of the Pokédex holders. When just looking at her this way, it appears that she's a perfectly polite and responsible girl. But everyone has their faults.

Hers being that she can get a little cocky at times, especially around Gold and Silver. They do have a nice rivalry/friendship kinda thing going on, and the need for her to seem like the more mature and composed one, compared to the two idiots who are always fighting. Even she jumps in on the banter at times, usually in an attempt gone wrong to get them to stop fighting. And because of this, she can probably seem a bit too bossy and maybe even arrogant. She kinda acts older than she is sometimes. Until she loses her confidence, then she just has no hope. Crys got really down when she couldn't capture Suicune, and lost her ability to catch any Pokémon. She cried, feared she would let the Professor down after she took such an important task. It took her a long time to finally get her determination and ability to catch Pokémon back, but she became more sure of herself that she would get the job done. This way, she could become even more of a workaholic, focused primarily on catching all the Pokémon for the Professor that she possibly good. Determination is one thing, but sending Pokémon nonstop to him is going just a bit overboard. And, it was at night.

Regarding relatonships, she gets along pretty well with the other dex holders. Gold, Silver, and Crystal are all pretty close, despite the fights. Sure, they had a rocky relationship at first, but eventually all warmed up and became fast friends. Her rivalry with Eusine is... pretty unique. She does admire him for chasing Suicune for so long, but also sees him as a dear, yet very odd, friend. She's grateful to him for letting her try to catch Suicune while he fought Rocket grunts, and never forgets his kindness. She shares a certain kinship with him for both admiring Suicune. He still thinks Suicune will choose him. And et, Suicune saw Crystal the trainer worthy to fight with him against the Masked Man, and to help save Ho-oh and Lugia. Naturally, she was extremely happy with this since Suicune was the one she admired the most, and always hoped to capture. She was upset at first not understanding Suicune's feelings for returning to the Tin Tower, and felt honored to help him fight whe nhe came to her. As for Yellow, she was first suspicious of her, but soon learned she was a nice and caring person for Pokémon, just as she was. This caused them to get a certain bond together, and they also became good friends. For Emerald, she was the one who sent him on the journey to find Jirachi. She was a big help to him by lending out her Pokémon to him, showing just how much she trusted him, but also how much she wanted to save the other frozen dex holders. She helped in the final battle, knowing they all had to come together to beat Archie and his monster. Naturally, after the victory, she was overjoyed to have all of her friends back to normal.

In HGSS, Crys has become a mature, young woman. She still has a strong sense of duty as the Professor's assistant, and a Pokedex holder, vowing to protect the children at the orphanage from Team Rocket's plan.

Strengths:
-She is the best Pokémon capturer in Johto, if not the world. Professor Oak even said she was the expert on capturing any and all Pokémon.
-Crys is a very determined person, as when she couldn't capture any Pokémon, she decided she would tie her arms behind her back, and work with her legs until she could properly kick Pokéballs to catch again.
-She's an extremely kindhearted girl who really cares about her Pokémon and friends. She took on the quest to fill the Pokédex, and the Professor in turn fixed up the orphanage she worked at. She looked after the kids there like a big sister to make sure they were taken care of well.
-Try that she's one of the most, if not THE most reliable dex holder among them. She always gets the job done and refuses to give up. As when she completed the Johto dex for Professor Oak, which, mind you, is no small task. YOU TRY CATCHING 100+ POKEMON.
-She works extremely well with her Pokémon or other trainers. Teamwork is a big thing for her and is great at coming up for strategies involving it. When fighting against Pryce in the Ilex Forest, they all came together to beat him since they knew they would need to.
-Crys is a very brave person. She's willing to take on a criminal organization and try to capture an extremely powerful Pokemon at the same time. And even be willing to pursue that Pokemon to the point of getting rather banged up.

Weaknesses:
-She's a bloody workaholic. No, seriously, Bill said she could take a break after a hard capture, but the second she saw a Pokémon she hadn't caught for the Professor, Crys immediately when to go catch it.
-When she's sad, she gets SAD. When she failed one capture against Suicune, it was impossible for her to catch even the simplest of Pokémon, and she became incredibly lost after this.
-Crys can often come off as too serious, like when Gold and Silver were fighting, she asked if they knew they were the people Professor Oak trusted with the task of filling up the Pokédex. Gold totally called her out on being too serious.
-Another thing is Crys can sometimes seem a bit too bossy. When Gold was making a big scene at the Indigo Plateau, Crys had to tell him repeatedly to watch what he was doing, and eventually got pretty annoying.
-There are times when even she can be immature, as in her many instances where she fights with Gold, usually about how she isn't bossy or serious or uptight. And she may even come across as a know-it-all, since she knows so much about Pokémon, capturing them, their abilities, and even how to work the Pokégear well.
-She can sometimes get a little too worked up, and or determined. Such as following a Pokemon until she's exhausted and slightly beaten up, or constantly yelling at the bad guy for their crimes.

First Person: Q&A

Third Person: As Crys brushed the cold snow off of her feet, she stood up and began wandering around to find out more about this seemingly familiar town. Every now and then, she winced as the wings on her back send a slight twinge of pain through her back. It all felt so familiar. Like something she forgot was trying to be remembered. Passing by more and more buildings, a few memories would flood back into her head. Just like last time, she arrived when it was cold and snowing. She wondered if Gold and Silver would still be here. Places like this are always more fun with your friends, she thought. She hoped the other friends she made when she was here last were still in Luceti. Even if she couldn't remember all of their names now, she still missed them. And there were some friends she was just getting to know before Crys had an unexpected departure.

Though she knew this wasn't a good place to be caught in, a small part of her was relieved to be back. Being in this place for six months did make it a home for her, as unpleasant as it could be. But there were many upsides to it, as well. The village itself was a nice place, and Crys was happy all of it was finally starting to come back to her. A feeling of ease came over her temporarily, but then she remembered her Pokemon. Would they remember this place? Which ones would join her here this time? A flurry of questions rushed through her head.

"No. No! They're strong. They'll be fine. Besides, there's no telling when they'll arrive. I just have to keep calm." All she would have to do is ask around if anyone's seen them. It wouldn't be that difficult, and her Pokemon are smart. They would be able to find it, no problem. She gave a confident nod to herself, returning to exploring the town. It wasn't likely anything had changed, but it helped all the same. Besides, she was trying to remember which one was the clothing store. She was freezing in this dress!
